Heinz celebrated South Africa's Heritage Day on 24 September 2026 in Johannesburg, creating a single visual symbol from 125 braais, according to bizcommunity.com.
The event gathered more than 2,000 participants who cooked, ate and listened to music while the 125 fire pits formed the outline of a Heinz Keystone label when viewed from the sky.
Passant El‑Ghannam, chief marketing officer for Kraft Heinz in the Middle East & Africa, said the brand wanted to earn its place at South African tables rather than dictate how people braai.
As part of the celebration, the company teamed with South African artist Ricollin, who painted a tribute to local heritage on a bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, blending the brand’s 150‑year history with South African symbols.
