Gary “GaryVee” Vaynerchuk told Variety that his VeeFriends collectibles brand, which began in 2021, is already an eight‑figure revenue business and could become the biggest enterprise of his career.

What happened

At New York Comic Con, Vaynerchuk introduced VeeFriends issue #22, titled “Gentle Giant,” featuring cover art by Rob Liefeld. The comic tells a Cold‑War‑era story about a government‑created supersoldier made from ancient giant DNA who rebels against his violent purpose. Vaynerchuk said the issue targets “35 to 65‑year‑old history nerds” and blends classic monster‑movie nostalgia with sci‑fi thriller elements.

What the reports add

The article notes that VeeFriends began as a storytelling universe of more than 280 hand‑drawn characters designed to teach kindness and life lessons. It now includes comic books, trading cards, coins and other merchandise. Vaynerchuk described the brand as a cross between Pokémon and “Sesame Street,” and compared its ambition to Disney, Marvel and Pokémon.

What was said

Vaynerchuk told Variety, “From a business standpoint, I think it’s the biggest business I’m building. I believe intellectual property is the winner of the next half century… It’s an eight‑figure business already in revenue, selling trading cards, coins this year.” He added, “If I had to pick a horse where I think I’m riding on just one in my 60s, 70s, 80s, I think it’s VeeFriends.” He also explained the brand’s demographic strategy, saying, “VeeFriends, as a whole, is looking to be a brand for ages six to 106.”

How it came about

Vaynerchuk, who runs the VaynerX holding company and has built ventures ranging from Resy to Empathy Wines, first launched VeeFriends in 2021 to fill a perceived gap in the collectibles market. By creating a large roster of characters, he aims to sustain a continuous stream of stories across multiple media formats.
