Debian invites community artwork for upcoming Forky release

Artists can submit designs for boot screens, login prompts and wallpapers for Debian 14, named after the Toy Story character Forky.

By Felo News Desk · Published

The Debian Linux project announced a call for community artwork ahead of the release of Debian 14, code‑named “Forky.” Submissions may be used for boot screens, login prompts and desktop wallpapers and must reflect a distinctively Debian look without requiring core software changes. The deadline for entries is 26 November, and requirements are listed on the Debian Wiki.

Debian celebrated its 33rd anniversary in August 2026 and recently issued point release 13.7 of Debian 13 “Trixie” on 12 September 2026. The winning theme for Trixie was Elise Couper’s “Ceratopsian,” a nod to the triceratops character from Toy Story 3. Forky continues the tradition of naming releases after Toy Story characters, this time after the fourth film’s character.
