Deputy says Nigel Farage’s safety warnings were ignored after terror plot charge
Deputy Richard Tice claims Farage’s security concerns were dismissed as a suspect faces terrorism charges linked to the Reform UK leader.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage says his warnings about personal safety were ignored, his deputy Richard Tice told the BBC on Saturday, after a man was charged with plotting a terror attack against him.
Joshua Kerry, 28, was charged on Friday with one count of preparation of terrorist acts that includes an alleged plot against Farage, the Crown Prosecution Service said. The same charge follows a reopened counter‑terrorism probe in August into a suspected fire‑bomb attack at Farage’s south‑London home.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expressed sympathy for Farage and his family on X, saying the new charges are "extremely concerning" and that an attack on any politician is "an attack on us all." She added she would work to strengthen protections for politicians after Parliament returns from recess on Oct. 12.
Kerry was previously charged with murder in the July 8 beating death of former minister Ann Widdecombe, 78, who had been a Conservative MP, later a Reform Party spokesperson and a reality‑TV contestant. Widdecombe’s killing had already raised concerns about the security of public figures.
Richard Tice said Farage had discussed security risks many times over the years and that the latest charge is a "wake‑up call," adding that it is "particularly upsetting" when Farage is not believed or listened to.
