Etihad Rail raises weekend ticket prices as demand peaks
Flexible pricing means higher fares on busy weekend services, but online booking can still save travellers up to Dh21.

Etihad Rail confirmed that ticket prices vary with demand, and weekend services are now priced higher than weekday trips, the operator told Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm.
Comfort Class fares start at Dh39 for off‑peak journeys, but some weekend departures cost Dh59, while Premium Class tickets rise from a base of Dh109 to Dh129 on the same days. The same route can also see price differences by time of day; a 6:43 am Comfort Class trip from Abu Dhabi to Dubai was listed at Dh39, whereas a 4:43 pm departure cost Dh49.
Passengers can reduce costs by booking online rather than at station kiosks. The rail company noted that a Comfort Class ticket purchased through the official website or mobile app costs Dh39, compared with Dh60 when bought from a vending machine – a saving of Dh21 for the identical journey.
Etihad Rail also promotes combined travel options. A Nol One‑Day Pass, usable on Dubai Metro, Tram and RTA buses, can be added to a rail ticket for Dh22 (regular) or Dh42 (Gold). Both the rail ticket and the Nol pass are accessed via a single QR code, and the pass may be activated up to 90 days after purchase, expiring at midnight on the day of use.
For last‑mile connectivity, the Roads and Transport Authority’s F38 feeder bus links Al Yalayis station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station, offering a low‑cost alternative to taxis or private cars.
