Dubai‑based real‑estate developer Ellington Properties announced it will be the title sponsor of the 2026 Arab Basketball Championship, which runs from 9 to 20 October in Lebanon.
The tournament, hosted by Sagesse Sports Club, will feature teams from Lebanon, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar, Syria, Bahrain and Oman. Ellington Properties has previously sponsored Sagesse for a year and says the new partnership expands its support to a regional sporting platform.
Ellington’s CEO and co‑founder Elie Naaman told Gulf News that sport “has a unique ability to bring people together across cities, cultures and generations” and that the championship “celebrates talent, shared passion and the communities that make sport meaningful.”
Ragheb Haddad, president of Sagesse Sports Club, said the partnership reflects “genuine trust” in the club and its community, adding that Ellington’s involvement will help create “connections and leave a positive impact beyond the game.”
The sponsorship aligns with Ellington’s broader lifestyle‑curation strategy, which includes the Ellington Sports Foundation that supports sporting teams, initiatives and events across the region.
