The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) will conclude its 37th edition on Nov. 1 with the Asian premiere of “Vintage Violence”, a livestream‑era crime caper directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko and starring Cole Sprouse and Mizuhara Kiko, Variety reported.
What happened
“Vintage Violence” debuted in the Midnight Madness section at the Toronto Film Festival and will be screened at Singapore’s Capitol Theatre. The festival is reviving a stand‑alone closing night for the first time since 2014.
What the reports add
Variety noted that Kotlyarenko, Sprouse and Mizuhara will attend the closing night. The director will also join an “In Conversation With” session at the National Museum of Singapore on Oct. 31, discussing screen culture and the film’s production.
What was said
SGIFF executive director Jeremy Chua said, “After more than a decade, we are excited to bring back the festival closing as a moment for audiences to come together for one final film on the big screen,” and added that “‘Vintage Violence’ felt like the right film to close this edition – unruly, contemporary and deeply attuned to the ways technology has changed how we see, share and experience the world around us,” as quoted by Variety.
