South Korean entertainment company CJ ENM and Middle‑Eastern broadcaster MBC Group announced a long‑term partnership at MIPCOM in Cannes on Tuesday, creating a TVing‑branded hub on MBC’s Shahid streaming platform.
What happened
The deal expands an existing content‑supply relationship, adding a dedicated hub that will showcase a curated selection of CJ ENM productions, TVing originals and other Korean studio titles. More than 13 new titles are slated for release in 2026, alongside over 20 titles from CJ ENM’s back‑catalogue, with the lineup expected to grow over the partnership’s life.
What the reports add
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the new titles will be available on Shahid simultaneously with their Korean releases, allowing viewers across the Middle East and North Africa to watch shows as they debut at home. Selected programmes will receive Arabic dubbing and subtitles. The agreement also includes a linear‑television component, with CJ ENM titles to air on MBC4 under a time‑limited exclusive window; broadcast schedules will be announced later. Financial terms, exact duration and the launch date for the TVing hub were not disclosed.
What was said
"Expanding our collaboration this year to launch a dedicated TVing‑branded space, following our content supply agreement last year, is a meaningful achievement that once again underscores the competitiveness and growth potential of Korean content in the Middle East," said Sebastian Kim, CJ ENM’s vice‑president and head of its content distribution business unit, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
How it came about
The partnership builds on CJ ENM’s broader strategy to extend TVing internationally. Earlier in 2026 the company launched a TVing collection on Disney+ in Japan, followed by a branded hub on HBO Max in 17 Asia‑Pacific markets. In July, CJ ENM also signed a deal with Amazon Prime Video to bring more than 100 Korean titles to India over two years.
