The Joe Gibbs Racing driver said contact with the wall unsettled his car and allowed Kyle Larson to retake the lead.

Chase Briscoe said a late‑race brush with the wall cost him the win at the NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, leaving him fourth after Kyle Larson passed him in the final laps.

Briscoe led with 29 laps to go, lost the lead to Larson with seven laps remaining, and briefly regained it on lap 238. With ten laps left he was 0.2 seconds ahead, but a wall contact unsettled his car, allowing Larson to pass and finish ahead. Briscoe finished behind Austin Cindric and Denny Hamlin, who also passed him after the incident.

"I thought I was really good there and was able to turn him down before the green flag pit stop… I couldn't ever get behind him, and it kind of allowed the 2 (Austin Cindric) to get in there," Briscoe told Sportskeeda. He added that the car became "loose" and that the wall contact changed the balance, forcing him into "desperation mode" as he needed a win to stay in championship contention.
