Brad Keselowski commented on the Lap 122 restart wreck at Kansas Speedway that involved Carson Hocevar and Ty Gibbs, saying he didn’t see the contact and that it made for a "good story."
What happened
On the Lap 122 restart of the Hollywood Casino 400, Hocevar was lined up 11th with Keselowski directly behind and Gibbs beside him. As the field entered Turn 1, Keselowski’s car nudged Hocevar’s No. 77 Chevrolet on the outside lane. Hocevar moved toward the middle, became unstable, and collided with Gibbs, sending both Hocevar and Wallace into the infield grass and collecting Josh Berry and Erik Jones. The incident sent Hocevar from a top‑five position to a 33rd‑place finish, three laps down.
What was said
Keselowski told Sportskeeda, "I don't know. They crashed. I didn't see what happened. They were in front of me, and then they weren't. So from what I'm told, they made some contact there (on) the outside lane. So I don't really feel like that had anything to do with me. But it makes for a da*n good story."
Hocevar, when asked, said, "It just looked like me and the 54 (Ty Gibbs) were just going for the same spot. He was in my blind spot, so I didn't know he was shooting that middle. So, I guess on me, but, we just ended up wrecking."
Earlier tensions between the two drivers stem from a rivalry that began when Hocevar spun Keselowski at Darlington, a clash referenced in Felo's recent coverage of Hocevar’s recent incidents.
