Carvel cake decorator misreads birthday request, prints garbled message

Casting agent Chelsi Kern shared the mishap after a Carvel shop printed a confusing message on her husband’s birthday cake.

By Felo News Desk · Published

Casting agent Chelsi Kern posted on Threads that a New York City Carvel shop turned her request for a simple "RUN" inscription on a classic Fudgie the Whale cake into a garbled, overly literal message. Kern’s receipt showed she asked for the word "RUN" in "BIG, all caps, creepy if possible" for her husband Matthew Bennett’s birthday. Instead, the decorator printed "Run & Big, All Caps Creepy if Possiple." Kern said she was "wheezing so hard" and "literally collapsed" with laughter, while Bennett eventually found the mistake amusing after seeing the receipt. Carvel did not respond to a request for comment, and Kern declined a refund, calling the incident "hilarious" and a story her friends will remember.
