Chris Broussard questions Matthew Stafford’s durability after four interceptions

Broussard challenged the veteran quarterback on “First Things First,” citing a career‑first streak of interceptions in each of the first four games.

Analyst Chris Broussard asked Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford whether "father time" had caught up with him, noting the veteran’s six interceptions in the first four games of the 2026 season. The comment came during an appearance on the "First Things First" show, where Broussard said the question was "legitimate" at this point in the campaign.

Stafford, who entered the season hoping to lead Los Angeles to another championship run, has also recorded six touchdown passes in the same span. His opening‑drive interception against the Philadelphia Eagles marked the first time in his career that he threw an interception in each of the first four games of a season.

Broussard added that while Stafford can still look great at times, the Rams’ offensive production is being hampered by turnovers and inconsistent execution. He stopped short of calling for a replacement, but warned that the margin for error is shrinking and that Stafford must protect the ball and make better decisions in critical moments.
