Billboard reports that the inaugural Aloha Festival will launch on March 6, 2027 at Dee Why Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, with Wolfmother, Ball Park Music and Yothu Yindi as headliners.
The all‑ages surf, music and culture event will accommodate up to 15,000 attendees and will also feature Dune Rats, The Terrys, The Beautiful Girls, Mid Drift and The Beefs. Tickets go on sale on Monday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. AEDT, following a presale that began on Oct. 23.
Organisers say the festival will blend live music with curated surf‑film screenings, including 4K‑remastered works by John Florence, Jack Johnson and Stacy Peralta. Community initiatives will cover shark education, ocean safety, First Nations and Hawaiian cultural programs, environmental sustainability and mental‑wellbeing, including a “Bush to Beach” scheme for First Nations youth.
Founder Luke Campbell, a Long Reef resident, said the event honors Hawaiian waterman Duke Kahanamoku, who introduced surfing to Australia at nearby Freshwater Beach in 1914, and aims to bring together audiences from five to eighty‑five years old.
Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale, Yothu Yindi (ARIA Hall of Fame inductees in 2012) and indie‑pop group Ball Park Music are highlighted for their past successes, including Wolfmother’s 2005 debut, Yothu Yindi’s 1991 hit “Treaty” and Ball Park Music’s 2020 chart‑topping album.
