Abu Dhabi Aviation Group announced that its Al Jeer aircraft engineering programme will enrol 35 new Emirati students annually, according to Gulf News.
The two‑year scheme blends university or college coursework with supervised practical training toward General Civil Aviation Authority B1, B1.3 or B2 licences. Participants start as employees of the group and rotate through subsidiaries such as Etihad Engineering, Global Aerospace Logistics, the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center and Abu Dhabi Aerospace Services.
More than 65 UAE nationals are already in the programme, which celebrated its first anniversary at an event on 7 October at Erth Abu Dhabi. Mahmood Alhay Al Hamli, Group CEO, said the initiative gives young Emiratis “the opportunity to begin their professional journey while still studying”. The programme is delivered with Mawaheb Talent Hub, part of the Department of Government Enablement, Abu Dhabi. Dr Abdulla Al Shimmari added that the partnership equips graduates with market‑ready skills.
Admission involves several assessment stages, with roughly one‑third of final‑stage candidates receiving offers.
