Zuru launches Nook Nooks collectible range in South Africa
The new StarBox line offers illuminated mini‑rooms and animal figures, targeting adult collectors.
By Felo News Desk · Published
Zuru has introduced its Nook Nooks collectible range, sold under the StarBox brand, to South African retailers, the company said on 30 September 2026.
What happened
The range, which combines a surprise animal figure, a themed miniature room, furniture, accessories and a working LED light, is now available in South Africa after an early launch in the United States where it topped Target’s POP category sales.
What the reports add
Bizcommunity notes that the US launch succeeded despite being stocked in only about 500 Target stores nationwide. The article attributes the strong performance to collector‑generated content on social platforms, according to Sabina Hujdurovic, Zuru’s marketing manager for APAC, Middle East & Africa.
What was said
“The timing couldn't be better as the global blind box phenomenon evolves beyond children's toys,” Hujdurovic told Bizcommunity.
“Adults are now one of the fastest‑growing consumer groups in collectibles,” she added.
How it came about
Zuru’s Nook Nooks builds on a broader shift in collectible culture toward display‑worthy items that appeal to adult consumers, a trend the company highlighted in earlier statements about expanding its premium blind‑box portfolio.
