UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski told TMZ Sports that he will travel to Dagestan to film an episode of his cooking series, "Cooking with Volk," alongside UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev. Volkanovski said the plan includes horseback hunting, catching game, and cooking over a wood fire while camping in the mountains.
"I love the idea of Islam Makhachev. Doing it with him. We've already even chatted about it. So I'm going to go to Dagestan, in the mountains, horseback hunting, hunting on horseback, catching whatever we catch and then cooking it, literally over a wood fire, camping out," Volkanovski said.
The episode would follow previous collaborations on the show, which have featured former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and former bantamweight contender Merab Dvalishvili. Volkanovski also recalled his own bout with Makhachev at UFC 284, describing it as his favorite fight despite losing by decision.
He emphasized that the planned trip is already scheduled and that the filming will happen, adding, "And I'm telling you, it's gonna happen. We're gonna do it."
