The fund was unveiled at the MIA Market in Rome and will provide upfront cash to Italian filmmakers.

At the MIA Market in Rome on Tuesday, U.S. financiers announced a new $100 million equity fund aimed at Italian film producers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
What happened
Raj Singh, chief executive of Media Capital Technologies, said the fund will target producers in Italy’s mature market, which has a history of box‑office success. The financing structure is designed to close the gap between producers’ upfront production costs and later reimbursement from tax credits or other public incentives.
What the reports add
Singh described the market as “vibrant” and “large enough to be interesting” for institutional capital. Mauro Marti, chief executive of RPI Holding, said the mechanism will complement banks and provide cash when producers need it most. Steven Saltzman, partner and head of the International Entertainment Group in the U.K., said the European Investment Hub can work alongside traditional lending, enabling capital to flow into a market with strong production and distribution capacity.
What was said
“There is a vibrant local production market, which is always appealing,” Singh told the MIA Market. “The main idea is to have a financial structure that is complementary to the banks, and is able to customize for the producers’ needs,” Marti added. Saltzman argued, “It enables a cash flow that otherwise wouldn’t be there… This is a market that deserves more and we can provide it in a nimble and rapid fashion.”
