The Texas Rangers lost 6‑4 to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Minneapolis, ending their chances of reaching the playoffs for the third consecutive season. The loss left the Rangers 80‑82, one game behind first‑place Houston, who finished 81‑81 after a 9‑0 win over the Oakland Athletics.
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said the team had to find a way to win more games, noting that the club had struggled on the road and against teams with losing records. He added that the offseason would be a time to reflect and move forward.
Houston’s 9‑0 victory over the A’s secured the AL West title, while the Rangers’ 6‑4 loss to the Twins meant they could not overtake the Astros, who had a head‑to‑head tiebreaker advantage.
With the season ending, the Rangers will look to rebuild and improve their performance in the 2027 campaign.
