Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham used the latest episode of the "No Hesitation" podcast on Oct. 9 to dismiss critics, saying she no longer cares about what anyone says about her.
"That's why I literally don't even care what anyone says about me anymore," Cunningham told host Drew Hanlen, adding that fans who criticize her "have never picked up a ball" and are "thirsty for attention." She emphasized her confidence in her abilities beyond the stat sheet.
Cunningham, 30, is an eight‑year WNBA veteran who spent two seasons with the Fever after six with the Phoenix Mercury. This past season she started three of 43 games, averaged 7.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.6 three‑pointers made and 1.2 assists per game, and shot 41.9% from three‑point range, ranking fifth in the league.
The Fever’s 2026 season ended with a loss to the Las Vegas Aces in Game 3 of the first‑round playoffs. Star guard Caitlin Clark and forward Aliyah Boston remain under contract, while Cunningham and four‑time All‑Star Kelsey Mitchell are eligible for free agency, potentially reshaping Indiana’s roster.
