The Richfield Teacher Impact Award, partnered with 5FM, asks South Africans to nominate teachers who have made a lasting difference, ahead of World Teachers’ Day on 5 October 2026.
What happened
From 30 September to 9 October, high‑school learners can submit nominations via the 5FM website. Each weekday between 5 October and 9 October, 5FM will select one winning teacher, who receives R10,000 from Richfield, while the student who nominated them receives R5,000.
What was said
“Teachers do so much more than deliver lessons… they can be the people who recognise a young person’s potential long before that person sees it themselves,” Shireen Chengadu, chief academic officer at Richfield, told Bizcommunity.
