Brazilian forward Raphinha will not travel to Kolkata for the Oct. 3 friendly against India, Gulf News reported on Sep. 30. The player felt discomfort in his right thigh during Brazil's 4‑2 win over Australia and was substituted at half‑time. Tests found only minor edema, and the Brazilian Football Confederation decided to keep him out of the India match as a precaution.
Raphinha, who wears Brazil's No. 10 shirt and captains the side, will return to Barcelona for treatment. No replacement has been named. Brazil will complete a final training session in Brisbane before flying to India on Oct. 1. The match, the first senior meeting between Brazil and India, will be played at the Salt Lake Stadium.
