Sydney investor Hoang Trang Do lists Point Piper mansion Akuna for over $55 million

The five‑bedroom property, previously sold for $60 million in 2023, includes a heritage boathouse, pool and private jetty.

Investor Hoang Trang Do has placed the Point Piper waterfront mansion known as Akuna on the market with a price guide of more than $55 million, the Sydney Morning Herald reported on 16 October 2026.

What happened

Akuna, a five‑bedroom, six‑bathroom home with uninterrupted harbour views, is now listed for over $55 million after Do decided the property was surplus to his needs. Do originally bought the house for $60 million in June 2023, having previously purchased it for $45 million in 2022 from Scott Barlow, former chairman of Sydney Football Club. The mansion features a pagoda heritage boathouse, a private jetty capable of accommodating a 50‑foot yacht, a pool, a grand spiral staircase and a range of specialist kitchens.

What the reports add

The SMH article notes that the property was previously owned by big‑band performer Warren Daly and his wife Karen from 1997, when grocery tycoon John David sold it for $7.75 million. It also records that Do bought the landmark Spanish‑mission residence Boomerang in Elizabeth Bay for $80 million in November 2023. Plans approved by council for a transformation by Brian Meyerson of MHN Design Union are mentioned, as are the current design contributions of Walter Barda, Richard Christian, Michael Love and Thomas Hamel.

What was said

Steven Chen, co‑founder of The Agency and exclusive selling agent, said the vendor “is fortunate enough to own two of the finest waterfronts on Sydney Harbour and, as it stands, Point Piper is surplus to his needs”. Chen added that the home “will be highly sought after as the home itself is substantial and further enhanced by uninterrupted harbour views, a boat house and its own rare private jetty”.

How it came about

Do’s decision follows his purchase of Boomerang, a historic Elizabeth Bay property, for $80 million in late 2023. The sale of Akuna adds to a recent wave of high‑value listings in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, including the five standout homes highlighted in Felo’s 2 October coverage of the area’s market activity.
