Durham Regional Police say a 16‑year‑old boy from Pickering, Ontario, has been charged with uttering threats and manufacturing firearm parts after online comments about a school shooting prompted a search of his home.
Police received reports from multiple sources, including international policing partners, about the suspect’s online remarks about printing a firearm for a shooting. The investigation led officers to a Pickering residence on Thursday, where they seized a 3D printer, an incomplete part for a semi‑automatic firearm called an Urutau, and electronic devices.
The teen was arrested, charged and held for a bail hearing, according to the Canadian Press report on Oct. 2, 2026.
