Philadelphia Union defeated Chicago Fire 3-1 on Wednesday night, extending their unbeaten streak to a club‑record 14 matches, according to the Associated Press.
Chicago took an early 1-0 lead when Maren Haile‑Selassie scored in the 44th minute. Defender Jack Elliott received a second yellow card in first‑minute stoppage time, resulting in a red card that left the Fire a man down for the remainder of the match.
Philadelphia equalised four minutes into the second half when Milan Iloski netted his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Cavan Sullivan. Iloski, who also provided an assist on the next Union goal, tied the game at 1-1.
Bruno Damiani then scored the go‑ahead goal in the 55th minute, with an assist from Sullivan, and added a second strike in the 67th minute to make it 3-1. The striker now has 11 goals for the season.
Defender Frankie Westfield assisted Iloski’s equaliser, while Jovan Lukic set up Damiani’s second goal. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded three saves for Philadelphia, and Chicago’s Chris Brady made four saves.
The Union have gone 12-0-2 under interim coach Ryan Richter, who took over after Bradley Carnell’s departure in May. The win moves Philadelphia to 5-7-2 on the road, while Chicago falls to 9-5-1 at home. Next, the Union host Charlotte FC on Saturday, and the Fire travel to New England Revolution.
