Peermusic announced on Friday, Oct. 16, that Julio Bagué has been promoted to senior vice president of A&R, U.S. Latin, and Lalo Molina has been appointed director of A&R for Mexico, according to the publisher’s statement.
What happened
Bagué will be based in Miami and will report to Elizabeth Rodda, president of U.S. Latin, Latin America and global society relations. Molina will remain in the company’s Mexico City office and will report to Viridiana González, general manager of Peermusic Mexico.
What the reports add
The announcement highlights Bagué’s 26‑year tenure at Peermusic, during which he helped build the U.S. Latin and Puerto Rico rosters through signings, catalog acquisitions and synchronization opportunities. His work has included artists such as Chayanne, Prince Royce, Víctor Manuelle and De La Ghetto. The statement notes that he has also overseen catalog acquisitions like Gilberto Santa Rosa’s PMC and Alejandro Jaén’s Ventura Music.
What was said
Elizabeth Rodda said, “In these promotions, we recognize Julio and Lalo’s outstanding efforts for our Latin songwriters, and we continue to provide the best executive talent in service to our writers.” Rodda added that Bagué “has contributed tremendously to the growth of our U.S. and Puerto Rico Latin rosters.” Bagué himself said, “As an independent company built around songwriters, Peermusic has always felt like family, and I am grateful to our leadership for their trust and support. It is such an exciting time for Latin music, and I look forward to continuing to champion our writers, producers and artists in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and helping our music reach even greater heights around the world.”
How it came about
Bagué’s promotion follows a period of strong growth for Latin music in the United States, with the genre generating $542.2 million in the first half of 2026, according to Felo’s earlier coverage of industry revenue. Peermusic’s expanded leadership mirrors similar moves by other publishers, such as Warner Chappell’s appointment of Carlos Ruiz to head its Mexican music division in September. Both promotions reflect a broader industry focus on cross‑border collaboration and the rising commercial importance of Latin music.
