Pakistani short film The Last Glance qualified for the 2027 Academy Awards long‑list, according to Daily Times. The film earned the Jury Award for Best Short at the 21st Tasveer Film Festival in Seattle, which ran from October 13‑18. Filmmaker Kamran Faiq said it was the only Tasveer entry to reach the long‑list and clarified that qualification does not equal an Oscar nomination. He added that the team will keep campaigning toward next year’s awards and plans to bring an Oscar‑nominated actor on board as executive producer. The film, which follows a family fleeing village violence, also previously won Best International Short at Canada’s Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival and is a finalist in the Asian World Film Festival short‑film programme in Los Angeles.
