England travel to Croatia for a Nations League match on Saturday, Oct 3, and Paddy Power is advertising a free‑bet promotion for new customers. The offer gives enhanced odds of 50/1 on a goal being scored by either side, provided the bettor places a £1 bet on the over‑0.5‑goals market before kickoff at 5 pm.

What happened

The promotion, detailed by Standard.co.uk, requires a new user to register via a specific link that automatically applies the promo code YFBDIJ. After a minimum £5 deposit, the bettor must place a maximum £1 wager on “over 0.5 goals” for the Croatia‑England game. The qualifying bet must be placed before the 5 pm kick‑off on Oct 3. At the time of writing, the standard price for the over‑0.5‑goals market is 1/200, meaning the free‑bet boost to 50/1 represents a substantial increase.

What the reports add

Standard.co.uk notes that England entered the international break with two Nations League results: a 3‑2 loss to Spain at Wembley and a 2‑0 win over Czechia in Prague. The two sides previously met at the World Cup, where England won 4‑2. The article also explains that winnings from the £1 bet will be paid out at the normal odds before being topped up to the 50/1 free‑bet level for use on bet builders.

What was said

Standard.co.uk states that “new customers can receive enhanced Nations League odds of 50/1 for a goal to be scored by either side” and that “the required Paddy Power promo code YFBDIJ … can’t be entered manually.” The outlet also reports that “qualifying bets must be placed before the game kicks off at 5pm on Saturday, October 3.”

How it came about

The offer is part of Paddy Power’s broader strategy to attract new bettors ahead of high‑profile international fixtures. Felo’s recent coverage of other betting promotions, such as the Bet365 bonus for the Broncos‑Chiefs NFL game and BetMGM’s POSTBET codes, shows a pattern of bookmakers using major sporting events to drive sign‑ups.
