Old 2015 video of Myanmar woman beheaded mislinked to 2026 Saudi executions of Bangladeshi nationals
The Quint found the graphic clip dates to 2015 and depicts a Myanmar woman, not the recent Bangladeshi executions.

A graphic video circulating online claims to show the execution of two Bangladeshi nationals in Saudi Arabia on 14 October 2026. The Quint fact‑checked the claim and found it false.
The clip actually dates to 2015 and shows a Myanmar woman, identified as Laila Bin Abdul Mutallib Basim, beheaded in Makkah after being accused of sexually assaulting and killing her seven‑year‑old stepdaughter. The Quint traced the footage to a Dawn report published 27 January 2015 and a Middle East Eye Facebook post from 17 January 2015, both describing the 2015 execution.
The outlet notes that the video has been repeatedly shared with the false 2026 context, despite the recent execution of two Bangladeshi men in Makkah’s mosque, which was reported by Felo News on 15 October 2026.
