OKXICE reports objections from Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs to tokenized stock platform
About a quarter of the 62 companies slated for OKXICE's tokenized stock venture have filed objections, according to the joint venture.
By Felo News Desk · Published
OKXICE, the joint venture of cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, said on Monday it had received 16 issuer objections to its proposed tokenized stock platform, including from Microsoft, Alphabet (Google’s parent) and Goldman Sachs.
What happened
The venture had initially targeted 62 U.S.-listed companies for tokenized share trading. Roughly 25% of those firms have now submitted formal notices of objection, bringing the total to 16.
What the reports add
Cointelegraph noted that the objections did not specify reasons, though an unnamed expert suggested concerns over price impacts. The platform would operate 24/7 using permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on XLayer, pairing each tokenized stock with USDT, USDC or Global Dollar.
What was said
OKXICE co‑chair and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told Cointelegraph the notices were “not objections,” framing them as companies waiting to see how the model works.
How it came about
Earlier this month OKX and ICE filed with the SEC to launch the tokenized stock model, promising continuous trading and stablecoin settlement.
