Lorain County prosecutors indicted Dr. Kris L. Taylor, 62, owner of Landings Animal Hospital in Avon Lake, Ohio, and 29‑year‑old Camille Angulat‑Nieto on seven counts for a scheme that used the name of a dead dog, “Punkin,” to obtain prescription drugs.

According to the indictment obtained by 19 News, the duo wrote and filled more than 20 prescriptions for oxycodone and alprazolam between Aug. 10, 2024 and June 7, 2025, which were dispensed at pharmacies across Northeast Ohio.

Charges include a pattern of corrupt activity, deception to obtain a dangerous drug, possession of oxycodone (felony), illegal processing of drug documents involving oxycodone and alprazolam, and a misdemeanor possession of alprazolam.

Taylor was arrested, posted a $500,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty; Angulat‑Nieto was also indicted and placed under court‑supervised release, though her plea status is unclear. The hospital said it will remain open.
