Daily Maverick and Gift of the Givers announced the launch of the sixth edition of the MavericKids Activity Book on 16 Oct 2026.
What happened
The 240‑page volume, compiled from the Daily Maverick DM168 newspaper’s children’s section, is now available for pre‑order through the Daily Maverick Shop at R325 per copy, with deliveries slated for mid‑November 2026.
What the reports add
The partnership has already donated 12,838 books to underserved South African communities over five years, addressing a context where eight‑in‑ten Grade 4 pupils cannot read for meaning and nearly three‑in‑five households lack any book.
What was said
In the announcement, Ingrid Sinclair, Head of Growth at Daily Maverick, offered contact details for organisations wishing to sponsor bulk copies as part of CSR initiatives.
How it came about
The activity book continues a long‑standing collaboration that seeks to make learning engaging and accessible, building on earlier Daily Maverick efforts such as the free DM168 e‑edition launched on 25 Sept 2026.
