Marc Jacobs vintage pieces surge in popularity at Beverly Hills shop

The Vintage Project reports a wave of interest in Marc Jacobs archives, spanning his whole career and boosted by recent celebrity wear.

By Felo News Desk · Published

The Vintage Project, a Beverly Hills vintage boutique run by Sarah Jordan Buss, says demand for Marc Jacobs pieces has surged across the designer's entire career, from his early Perry Ellis work to his Louis Vuitton tenure.

Recent red‑carpet moments have amplified the trend: Bella Hadid wore a silk look from the spring/summer 2003 Louis Vuitton collection at Cannes, Odessa A’Zion chose a fall/winter 2018 suit for a Los Angeles premiere, and Zendaya and Cynthia Erivo have showcased archival pieces from 2013 and 2011 respectively.

Buss attributes the craze to millennials and “zillennials” who grew up seeing Jacobs on shows like Gossip Girl and The O.C., now re‑watching those series with their children and introducing the designer’s early 2000s styles to a new audience.

Long‑time collector Lauren Pyes, who attended New York Fashion Week and met Jacobs, described the experience as “weirdly full circle,” noting that the designer recalled discussing her archive.
