macOS 27 adds resizable windows and Control Center to iPhone Mirroring

The latest macOS release lets users resize the iPhone Mirroring window, reach Control Center and play protected videos on a Mac.

Apple’s macOS 27 Golden Gate and iOS 27, released last month, introduce three notable upgrades to the iPhone Mirroring feature, 9to5Mac reported.

The biggest change is the ability to resize the Mirroring window. Previously limited to three preset sizes—smaller, actual size, and larger—users can now adjust the window to any dimension when running iOS‑compatible apps, though initially only Apple’s native iPhone apps support this.

Control Center access is also added; pressing CMD+4 or selecting the “View” menu opens Control Center within the mirrored iPhone view. Additionally, DRM‑protected videos now play correctly instead of showing a black screen.

macOS 27 also ships with a refreshed app icon for iPhone Mirroring. The updates hint at Apple’s preparation for a foldable iPhone Ultra expected later this year.
