In the Los Angeles City Council District 3 primary held on Oct. 1, 2026, Gaspar received 46.1% of the vote, edging out Worth Girvan, who earned 42.5%, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Gaspar, who founded and sold Gaspar Insurance, highlighted a pro‑business agenda and has support from the Valley Industry & Commerce Association, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, and endorsements from Supervisor Kathryn Barger, developer Rick Caruso and former Assemblymember Bob Hertzberg.

Girvan, a longtime city and county employee, cited two decades of public‑service experience. She is backed by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, local chapters of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Service Employees International Union, as well as endorsements from Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and former mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
