Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi chaired the inaugural meeting of the province’s newly formed KP Advisory Council on Sunday, announcing a zero‑tolerance stance on terrorism and corruption.
All council members introduced themselves and their portfolios before Kundi congratulated them and warned of “many challenges.” He said members would receive briefings on their assignments and have a few days to familiarise themselves. “We have to fast‑track things. There will be zero tolerance on corruption. Things should be done in a timely manner,” Kundi told the gathering, according to dailytimes.com.pk.
The governor identified law and order as the council’s first priority, urging officials to draw inspiration from other provinces. He framed the current situation as an “opportunity” to improve the province’s soft image, noting that peace would attract tourists and investors. “My support is with you. I am available for you 24/7,” he added.
Kundi read a message to the people of KP, explaining that “extraordinary circumstances” required “necessary measures” under the Constitution, while pledging to avoid political rhetoric. He emphasized that Pakhtuns are the “biggest victims” of terrorism, not its cause, and declared that the state would eliminate terrorism so citizens could live without fear.
To achieve this, Kundi announced that the capacity of the police and the Counter Terrorism Department would be increased, making protection of peace and people his “first priority.” He concluded with a single message: “peace, protection and stability have to be brought back to KP.”
