Hasselbaink urges Chelsea to give Estevao more playing time

Hasselbaink praised the teenager’s talent and called for a fourth attacking spot at Chelsea.

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Hasselbaink said the 19‑year‑old Brazilian forward Estevao should be given more opportunities, telling MrQ that the club’s current front three – Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro – leave no room for a fourth player.

Estevao, who broke through last season with goals against Liverpool and Barcelona, has not started a Premier League match this season under Xabi Alonso. His longest appearance was a nine‑minute cameo in a 2‑1 loss to Arsenal, and his only starts have come in the Carabao Cup. He last scored for Chelsea in April and is currently on Brazil duty ahead of a friendly with India in Kolkata.

Hasselbaink, who scored 87 goals for Chelsea between 2000 and 2004, called Estevao “a super talent” and said it would be “a pity” for him not to feature, urging the teenager to believe in himself and push for a place.
