A major internet outage linked to Google Cloud impacted several UK websites and apps on 20 October, according to Down Detector. Services at Lloyds Bank, HSBC, Screwfix and parcel firm DPD were reported down, while digital bank Revolut faced significant disruption.
Google Cloud confirmed on its status page that "multiple services" were "experiencing issues" in Western Europe and issued an apology to users. Reuters noted the problem appeared to stem from Google Cloud, though it was unclear if all incidents were related.
