PTI leader Gohar Khan accepts government invitation for talks

PTI Chairperson Barrister Gohar Khan announced on X that he has accepted a government invitation for a meeting with opposition and government delegations on Friday at 12 pm in the office of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

The opposition gathering earlier that day took place in the Senate opposition leader’s chamber and was attended by Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, NA Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, former NA speaker Asad Qaiser, NA Chief Whip Aamer Mahmood Kamboh and TT AP spokesperson Akhundzada Yousufzai, among others.

Discussions covered the overall political situation, PTI’s planned Oct 4 protest march demanding Imran Khan’s release, and other constitutional and parliamentary matters, according to a TT AP statement.

Achakzai later ruled out participation in any meeting in the speaker’s chamber, and a senior TT AP leader said Abbas was initially unwilling to attend but agreed at PTI’s request.
