Gemma Collins, the 45‑year‑old star of The Only Way Is Essex who finished seventh on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, is reported to re‑enter the Big Brother house as a guest on Friday, 9 October.
What happened
The Independent notes that a source told The Sun on 7 October the stage is set for Collins to arrive on Friday. The source said Collins is in talks with the ITV2 production and that she has “a lot going on in her work and personal life,” but would welcome a return for the fans.
What the reports add
The article adds that both ITV and Collins’ representative declined to comment on the speculation. It also recalls Collins’ memorable 2016 moments – her “I’m claustrophobic, Darren!” outburst and a tearful diary‑room scene about her hair – and mentions that the current series began with 16 contestants, with guests such as Michael “Tays” Taylor and Jedward already appearing.
What was said
The source quoted by The Sun told the Independent, “Gemma is an intelligent, savvy businesswoman and loves her fans, and knows it would mean a lot to the fandom.”
How it came about
Collins first joined Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, a season often described as chaotic because of her meltdowns and other dramatic moments. If she does appear, it would be her third reality‑show appearance this year, following her stint on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.
