Evri warns of parcel delays as network overhaul creates backlog
The UK delivery firm cites a network redesign and added drivers as it works to clear parcels stuck in stores.

Evri, the UK parcel delivery company, said a limited number of ParcelShops are experiencing delays after it began overhauling its collection network, according to the Independent.
What happened
The company reported that the shift from large central depots to smaller regional sites has led to a backlog of items in some stores, with parcels remaining for several days.
What the reports add
The Independent noted that Evri is adding more than 100 new collection routes and about 330 "sweeper" vans to improve capacity. It also highlighted that Evri operates over 11,000 ParcelShops and lockers, plus more than 500 delivery hubs across the UK.
What was said
“Evri’s ParcelShop network is performing well, with service levels over 95% on time across our 13,000 plus out‑of‑home network,” an Evri spokesperson told the Independent.
The spokesperson added that recent media coverage focused on a “very small number of localised issues” and that the firm continues to invest in the network.
How it came about
Evri, formerly part of the Hermes group and bought by Apollo for about £2.7 billion in 2024, merged with DHL eCommerce UK in 2025. The rapid growth to over 12,000 employees and 30,000 couriers has increased parcel volumes, prompting the current network redesign.
