Hundreds of pupils from leading UAE schools visited Gulf News Edufair Dubai on its opening day, according to Gulf News. The event, running at the Shangri‑La Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road until 4 October, hosts more than 20 universities, study‑abroad agencies and career‑service providers.

What happened

Students moved between booths, many arriving with specific subject interests. Technology‑focused programmes in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, computer science and engineering drew strong attention, while business‑related tracks in finance, management and marketing were also popular.

What the reports add

Gulf News highlighted two Year 13 students – Aaima Raja and Khadija Ahmad of English Language School Dubai – who said they were considering business management and cybersecurity respectively, and both expressed interest in studying abroad. Grade 11 pupils Eva Talgaonkar and Haya Maneesh of JSS Private School were noted as exploring law studies in Australia and electrical engineering locally.

What was said

"I’m looking for business management programmes. I found a few good options at Edufair, as well as companies that can help students study abroad," Aaima said to Gulf News. Khadija added, "I’m in Year 13 and looking for cybersecurity courses. I found a few good options in the UAE, but I’m also interested in studying abroad and exploring opportunities outside the UAE."

How it came about

The Edufair follows a series of education‑focused events in Dubai, including the UniExpo held at Millennium Plaza in late September, which also featured AI and engineering programmes. The fair provides a platform for students to compare local and international options, complementing the emirate’s broader push to expand private‑school capacity announced on 1 October.
