WWE veteran Drew McIntyre told comedian Dan Soder on the Soder Podcast that several WWE stars have taken his on‑mic promos personally, mistaking character‑based remarks for personal attacks.

What happened

McIntyre, who has been away from the ring since losing to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, discussed the issue during the interview. He said he often “let people have it” to the point where they forget the distinction between the performer and the persona.

What the reports add

Sportskeeda reported that McIntyre’s comments included a specific line: “Don’t be such a loser. It’s not you. It’s the character I’m talking to.” The outlet also noted that McIntyre is currently working in Hollywood, filming the Highlander reboot as Angus MacLeod, and that he appeared in Russell Crowe’s Instagram post about training for the movie "The Last Druid."

What was said

“I really started letting people have it to the point they were forgetting they’re playing a character. They’re like, ‘You said that about me.’ No, I did. I said that about your character on Twitter. Don’t be such a loser,” McIntyre said on the podcast.

Russell Crowe later praised McIntyre on Instagram, calling him “salt of the earth” while sharing a gym photo.
