More than 1,000 fans gathered at a Market Basket in North Andover, Massachusetts, on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, to meet Ann Michael Maye, the wife of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, according to the New York Post.
What happened
Fans formed a line that stretched for hours, with some waiting four hours before the event began. The promotion, part of a partnership between Maye and Olivia’s Organics, offered attendees a chance to learn healthy recipes and obtain autographs. Around 1,200 people were reported to have shown up, though only a few hundred actually met Maye, per News 7 Boston.
What the reports add
The New York Post noted that two women claimed to have stood in line for four hours, and others said they drove from Connecticut and Maine for the chance to meet her. The outlet also cited a fan’s comment to The Globe praising Maye’s down‑to‑earth personality and her holiday baking series “Bakemas.”
What was said
One fan told The Globe, “I told my daughter, ‘No matter how big you are in this world, people always want to know that they make a difference,’” and added, “It’s nice to say, ‘Thank you for being you.’”
How it came about
Maye’s viral popularity on social media and her partnership with Olivia’s Organics helped draw the crowd. The event coincided with the Patriots’ recent on‑field turnaround, as the team won its past two games after a 1‑2 start, and Maye’s husband posted a photo with her at the store, describing the turnout as a “hero’s welcome.”
