Dodgers line up Ohtani at leadoff as Brewers prepare for Game 4 trophy ceremony
Game 4 sees Ohtani back at the top of the order and a pre‑game trophy ceremony for the Brewers at Dodger Stadium.
By Felo News Desk · Published
The National League Championship Series reaches Game 4 at Dodger Stadium, with the Dodgers moving Shohei Ohtani back to his usual leadoff spot despite recent injuries, and the Brewers planning a trophy presentation before the first pitch.
What happened
Bleacher Report noted that the starting lineups were posted shortly before 01:13 AM, highlighting Ohtani’s return to the top of the order after dropping to sixth in Game 3. The Brewers, holding a 3‑0 series lead, intend to hold a trophy ceremony roughly an hour before the game’s opening pitch.
What the reports add
The outlet reported Ohtani’s last postseason homer came on August 18 and that he has been dealing with left‑knee and right‑biceps pain, yet manager Dave Roberts kept him in the lineup. It also mentioned the Brewers have struck out 35 times in the series compared with the Dodgers’ 25, and that the Brewers have seven extra‑base hits to the Dodgers’ two, none of which were home runs.
What was said
Dave Roberts was quoted saying, “That’s what that group did a great job of… The most important thing is what those guys believe,” referencing the 2004 Red Sox comeback.
How it came about
Earlier in the series the Dodgers fell behind 3‑0 after losses in Games 1‑3, as detailed in Felo’s coverage of Game 3 and the opening loss on October 12.
