HBO has confirmed that the 2018 hit film "Crazy Rich Asians" will continue as an eight‑episode television series, according to The Independent. The series will bring back Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Ronny Chieng and Oscar‑winner Michelle Yeoh, with Wu reprising her role as Rachel and Yeoh returning as her mother‑in‑law.

Adele Lim, co‑writer of the original movie, will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Lim said, "It’s a Crazy Rich family reunion! This series is the sequel we've been waiting for, but instead of just one movie, we get eight episodes to delve into the characters and worlds of Kevin Kwan's brilliant books." Kevin Kwan, author of the source novels, added that he is "thrilled that the Crazy Rich Asians family is getting back together" and thanked fans for their patience.
