Colorado football is reportedly considering a quarterback change, with head coach Deion Sanders expected to bench Julian Lewis in favor of Isaac Wilson, according to CBS Sports reporter Matt Zenitz.
Lewis has thrown for 1,322 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions in eight career games over the past two seasons, completing 59.8% of his passes while being sacked 20 times. He is 3-5 in his starts for Colorado, including a 2-2 record this season.
In the most recent game against Baylor, Lewis completed 11 of 16 passes for 76 yards and was sacked three times in a 23-13 loss before being replaced at halftime by Wilson, who finished 12 of 25 for 156 yards and a score.
Sanders told reporters he has not yet decided on a starter, saying, "I'll take the responsibility for the decision that I made because I was trying to get us going," and added that he is comfortable turning to Wilson or even third‑stringer Kaneal Sweetwyne if needed.
