Dubai – After the Indiana Fever were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the 2026 WNBA playoffs, rookie star Caitlin Clark said she was upset by teammate Kelsey Mitchell’s comments about the challenges of playing alongside her.

Mitchell, speaking in her own exit interview, noted that the Fever had attracted “a lot of attention” since Clark joined the league and said, “Playing with CC, and having the eyes that she got, we get a lot of flak just for being on her team.”

Clark responded in her own interview, emphasizing that she does not stand for “racist hate or rhetoric” and that Mitchell’s suggestion that people used her popularity to promote such abuse was upsetting. She added, “There’s nobody I would want to share the backcourt with other than her.”

The Fever’s season ended with a 94‑83 loss in Game 3 on Oct 1, a series the Aces won 2‑1 after A’ja Wilson scored 36 points in the decisive game.
