Bruno Fernandes was cleared to play for Portugal in their Nations League match against Denmark in Copenhagen on Saturday, according to the Standard. The 32‑year‑old had been doubtful after missing Portugal’s 2‑1 win in Norway, but rejoined training earlier in the week and was named in the squad for the game at Parken Stadium.
Portugal beat Denmark 4-2, with João Cancelo scoring first, Mikkel Damsgaard equalising, and Fernandes assisting Gonçalo Ramos and Vitinha for the second and third goals. João Félix added a late strike. Ronaldo announced on social media that he left the training camp after a press conference with manager Jorge Jesus and federation president Pedro Proenca, promising to explain his reasons later.
United manager Michael Carrick welcomed the news, noting the relief of having Fernandes fit ahead of a tough October schedule that includes Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and other fixtures.
