A man was discovered lying on the roof of a Brentwood bus stop shelter on Monday, Sept. 29, 2026, with a shopping cart full of his belongings, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times citing KTLA.
Pete Brown, spokesman for City Councilmember Traci Park, said the council office learns of such incidents through media reports and that sanitation workers and police arrived that afternoon to address the safety threat posed by the cart and the rooftop location.
Brown said the man was cooperative, was not cited or detained by Los Angeles Police Department officers, and agreed to come down and discard some items. He also turned down offers of homeless services. The council office urged residents to file 311 reports for encampments and to call 911 for immediate threats.
