Australian rugby stages historic quadruple header at Accor Stadium

Men's and women's 15s and sevens sides will share the field in a first‑ever quadruple header on Saturday.

On Saturday, Accor Stadium will host an unprecedented "quadruple header" featuring all four senior Australian rugby teams, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

The programme begins at midday with the Wallaroos (women's 15‑a‑side) taking on Scotland, followed by exhibition matches by the men's and women's sevens sides against Olympic champions Fiji and New Zealand. The day concludes with the Wallabies facing the All Blacks in a Bledisloe Cup test.

Sevens star Maddi Levi, who recently debuted for the Wallaroos, was asked how many games she could play. She was told she could only appear in one match, so she will line up for the world‑champion sevens side rather than the Wallaroos.

Jimmy "The Jet" Turner said the event is "super exciting, especially just to play in front of family and friends" and highlighted the rarity of sevens teams playing at home – they normally only host one weekend a year during the World Series home leg in Perth.

Wallabies winger Max Jorgensen called the concept "very exciting" and noted that having both sevens teams, the women's 15s and the men's 15s in one stadium on one day is a first for Australian rugby.

The Wallabies and Wallaroos previously staged a double header in 2024 and are expected to repeat a similar format on Anzac Day next year, when the women's team will meet the Silver Ferns and the men will face New Zealand in a Bledisloe Cup match.
